Does the app know today's low-tide time for me?
No. Low Water Finds has no live tide feed. You type in the low-water time from the PLA tide table you already use, and the app builds your working window and countdown around the time you entered.
Is the countdown safety advice?
No. The countdown only reflects the window you set yourself. Always follow official PLA guidance and your own judgement on the foreshore.
Where are my finds and photos stored?
Entirely on your device, inside the app. There is no account, no server and no cloud sync, so nothing leaves your phone or iPad.
The camera button doesn't do anything in the Simulator.
The iOS Simulator has no camera hardware. On a real iPhone or iPad, tapping "Take photo" opens the camera after you grant permission. On the Simulator (or if camera access is declined), the app falls back to the photo library picker instead.
How does the 14-day Treasure counter work?
When you mark a find as Possible Treasure, the app starts a 14-day counter from the day of the find, matching the Treasure Act 1996 reporting window, and reminds you as the deadline approaches. The app does not report anything on your behalf — reporting to the coroner is something you do yourself.
Can I get my data out of the app?
Yes. The Finds tab includes a CSV export you can share through the system share sheet.
